Connie Ma and Astra Sharma are set to meet at the ITF W35 tournament in Bakersfield, California, on 23 October 2026. The hard-court event is part of the lower-tier professional circuit used for ranking development and comeback schedules.
Connie Ma’s developing tour profile
Ma is a US-based player whose public results point to junior and collegiate experience. She is less established on the WTA tour, so W35 events offer a route to ranking points. This match tests her consistency against a more experienced opponent.
Astra Sharma’s experience and Bakersfield context
Sharma is an Australian player with public records showing WTA main-draw and Grand Slam appearances. Her tour-level experience gives her a recognizable baseline game. The Bakersfield hard courts typically reward first-strike tennis; the matchup contrasts Ma’s development path with Sharma’s deeper professional background.
