First-round match at the Erste Bank Open in Vienna (ATP 500, indoor hard) between Karen Khachanov and Carlos Alcaraz. Public reports list the meeting for 27 October 2026; the exact start time may be adjusted by organisers.
Karen Khachanov: serve and flat groundstrokes
Khachanov is known for a powerful serve and aggressive flat groundstrokes from the baseline. Public records show the Russian has won ATP titles, including the 2018 Paris Masters, and an Olympic silver medal. On indoor hard, his serve can apply pressure, though return consistency remains a question.
Carlos Alcaraz: variety and speed
Alcaraz, according to public reports, is a multiple Grand Slam champion and one of the ATP Tour’s leading figures. His speed, variety of spin and net play stand out. In Vienna he will look to impose tempo and use drop shots; adapting to the fast surface is a key factor.
